Inpatient/Family Practice Ward – MSJ
The Mount Saint Joseph Family Practice ward is designed to provide care for a small group of patients that are appropriate for management by a family physician.
The ward is run by a first-year Family Practice resident with close oversight and support from an experienced family physician.
The ward can have up to eight patients. The Family Practice resident is expected to manage the ward with ongoing feedback and support from the MRP (Most Responsible Physician) family physician.
The resident and family physician conduct patient rounds together and attend group rounds (attended by a team of health care professionals).
This experience provides the family practice resident with an introduction to hospital management of patients. It also provides the experience of working in a team.
